150th Birth Anniversary of Sister Nivedita

To mark the sesquicentennial Birth Anniversary of Sister Nivedita, an ardent disciple of Swami Vivekanandha, an elocution contest was conducted on “Social Service of Sister Nivedita” on 31th of Jan. ‘18, in the conference Hall, SGC. The Women’s Development Cell was deputed to conduct the contest, Dr. N. Hemamalathi, Asst. Prof. of Tamil cum Convenor and members of the cell made all the arrangement for the event.  Around 25 girls students participated in the elocution contest and proved their oratorical skills.  The participants exemplified the gathering and the members of jury by their captivating speech, confidence, diction, comprehensible articulation.  A Jury comprised three Judges viz., Mr. S. Kumar, Head of the PG Commerce, Dr. V.V. Covindammale, Asst. Prof. of Tamil, and Mrs. S. Valarmathi, Asst. Prof. of English, who were spell bound by the authentic information and apposite illustrations.  Below stated five students were selected as the winners of the contest. The details of the winners are as follows:
