Literary Carnival Phoenix-’18

Literary Carnival-Phoenix-’18 was celebrated on 09th April. ’18 at 10.30 am on the College premises.  The prime objective of the Literary Association Phoenix is to inculcate and limelight the creativity and literary skills of our students. Phoenix is celebrated every year.  On the eve of celebrating Phoenix, various competitions viz Essay writing, Poetry writing, literary quiz, Paper Presentation, and Literary Pageant & Literary Painting were conducted.  Miss S. Parameshwari, HOD i/c & Asst. Prof., Department of English, welcomed the gathering. Prof. Dr. S. Srinivasan, Director, felicitated the occasion. Dr. J. Sukumar, Principal, Saradha Gangadharan College presided over the function and Dr. M. Doss, Guest Faculty, introduced the Chief Guest to the gathering.  The distinguished Chief-Guest Dr. R. Parthasarathy, Associate Prof. & Retired Principal, Dr. S.R.K. Govt. Arts College, Yanam, enlightened the occasion with his special lecture on “Inspiring and Immortal writers of Literature”, and distributed prizes and certificates for the winners of the competitions.  It was followed by exclusive cultural events performed by the students to entertain invitees.  Finally, S. Valarmathi, Asst. Prof. of English, delivered the vote of thanks and S. Uma & Ranjini, the final year students of English, hosted the function.
