Special NSS Camp
The NSS Unit of Saradha Gangadharan College organized a special one week camp from 18th Dec. to 24th Dec. 2018, in a community hall, at Tulukanathamman Nagar, by the Programme Officer, Mrs. K. Kavitha. The objective of the camp is to cultivate humane and leadership qualities among young students by involving them in various activities and awareness programmes. The camp was inaugurated by our Principal Dr. N. Sukumar and delivered the inaugural address. The state NSS officer of Puducherry Mr. kolandhaswamy was the Chief-Guest, who graced the occasion by his presence and the presidential address. Our respected Vice-Chairman, Shri. S. Pazhaniraja felicitated the occasion.
The various service oriented activities viz. Cleaning, Tree plantation, creating awareness by performing Street Play, were executed by the Volunteers. Medical survey , free eye check up, as well as health check up was conducted from and for the residents of our adopted village, Velrampet. The volunteers were benefitted by lectures delivered by experts of diverse disciplines in the special camp likely Disaster Management Programme, Yoga Practice, visit to Aryana forest, Time Management, Leadership Quality and enhancement of Competitive Skills.
The camp concluded successfully with the valedictory function. Dr. Sampath, Assit. Prof. of Philosophy, Tagore Arts College, Puducherry, delivered a special talk on “Gandhian Thoughts and a quiz was conducted on Gandhi’s Life and our students were appreciated with gifts. The Chief-Guest, Dr. Devabalan,NSS Programme Co-ordinator (College), Puducherry, delivered the valedictory address. The volunteers were highly benefitted by the camp.
