The B.Com Honours (General)  Degree Programme provides ample exposure in the field of Commerce,  Accountancy,  Management  and Corporate  sector. This Programme equips the students for entry-level jobs in industry and to become future entrepreneurs, thus playing a vital role in the country's economic dev elopement.

Lateral Entry: candidates  who  have passed  a Diploma  in Commerce  or Modern  Office Practice (3 years Programme)  awarded by the Directorate  of Technical Education of Tamil Nadu  or  other  States  shall  be  admitted  to  the  second  year  B.  Com  Honours  Degree Programme.

Eligibility: Candidates   for   admission   to   the   first   year      B.Com   Honours   (General/   Corporate Secretaryship)  Degree  shall be required to have passed the Higher  Secondary  examination (+2) of any board  or equivalent  recognized  by Pondicherry  University,  with  minimum  40 percent and 35 percent for OBC and SC/ST having Accountancy with Commerce / Business Studies.

AGE LIMIT

As per the regulations for admission of Pondicherry University.

• 3 years for physically handicapped, scheduled castes and scheduled tribes
• 5 years for nuns of various religious congregation and widows.

 COURSES OF STUDY

The courses  of study for the B. Com Honours  (General/  Corporate  Secretaryship)  Degree shall comprise the following.

 Part I - Language (in any two semesters in the First two years): Any one of the languages is available  at  the  candidate's  option  which  includes  Hindi,  Tamil,  Telugu,  Malayalam  and French. The syllabus and textbooks for the Language courses are as prescribed by the Board of Studies of Indian Languages of the college from time to time.

 Part II - English (in any two semesters in the First two years). The syllabus and textbooks for the English courses are as prescribed by the BoS of English of the college from time to time.

 Part III – Includes the following:

   Major Disciplinary Courses (MJD)

   Minor Disciplinary Courses (MID)

   Multi-Disciplinary Courses (MLD)

   Ability Enhancement Compulsory Courses (AECC)

   Skill Enhancement Courses (SEC)

    Value Added Courses (VAC)

The syllabus and textbooks  for major courses are as prescribed  by the Board of Studies in

Commerce of this College, from time to time.

Medium: The medium of instruction shall be English.
Fees: Rs. 28,000/- per semester + one-time payment of Rs. 2,800/- will be collected.
