Convocation 2026 — Graduation Ceremony

The 18th Convocation of Saradha Gangadharan College (Autonomous) was held with great grandeur on the college campus.

The function was inaugurated by the Chairman of the college, Thiru G. Swaminathan. The Vice Chairman of the college, Dr. S. Pazhaniraja, delivered the welcome address. The Principal of the college, Dr. S. Babu, presented the convocation report.

The Chief Guest of the function was the Vice-Chancellor of Pondicherry University, Professor P. Prakash Babu, who delivered the convocation address. In his speech, he emphasized that value-based education is highly relevant in today’s life. Quoting Nelson Mandela’s famous words, “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world,” he highlighted how education helps eradicate poverty, dismantle oppression, and establish global equality. He also spoke about the importance of the National Education Policy 2020 and Viksit Bharat.

Further, he advised the graduating students not to remain mere observers of problems, but to become problem solvers. Following his address, he awarded gold medals and certificates to 13 students who secured first rank at the Pondicherry University level examinations.

Subsequently, degrees were conferred upon more than 1,200 undergraduate and postgraduate students who graduated in the academic years 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024. All the graduating students took the oath.

The convocation ceremony was attended by students, parents, faculty members, and college staff.
