Academic Writing &Note Making

The Department of English, organized a workshop on “Academic Writing & Note Making” on 24th July 2026 at the Smart Class, Room No. 46.
The workshop was conducted as part of the department’s initiative to equip students with essential academic and communication skills required for higher education and career readiness.
The session was handled by Mr. S. Srinivasan, Founder & Chief Mentor, Higginz Transforming Lives, Puducherry. He engaged students in practical training on the fundamentals of academic writing, structure of essays and assignments, techniques of effective note-making, and strategies to avoid plagiarism. The resource person emphasized the importance of writing with clarity, confidence, and purpose. Interactive activities and examples were used to help students understand how to organize ideas and present them in a scholarly manner.
The Objectives of the Workshop are:
1. To introduce students to the conventions and ethics of academic writing.
2. To develop skills in summarizing, paraphrasing, and note-making.
3. To enhance students’ confidence in expressing ideas in written form for academic and competitive purposes.
The workshop concluded with a feedback session. Our Principal, Prof. Dr. S. Babu, graced the occasion and distributed certificates to the participants. The students actively participated and found the session highly useful for their academic growth.
