Research contributes content to teaching .The role of research in higher education be, in response to the challenge of an active future contribution to human and social development. It is done with the aim of making sure the institution is working to accomplish its educational mission. Any quality teaching draws on quality research. To encourage active research in Saradha Gangadharan College a Centre for Research and Publications (CRP) has been formed to steer research initiatives and engage its faculty in sound research, by providing infrastructure and other support services
About SGRF
The SGC Centre for Research and Publications (CRP) is a service unit under the Office of the Director (Research).CRP promotes and nurtures a culture of genuine intellectual inquiry, advances inter-disciplinary and multi-disciplinary studies, and serves as a clearing house for information related to faculty research activities on campus

About:
SGC aims to improve overall research performance and promote research activities undertaken by various departments / faculty members. The Research Incentive Scheme (RIS) provides the means to assist with research activities or reward staff for successful publication or presentation of research outputs

Faculty Incentives for Projects

Paper Presentation in Conferences:
- Criteria for availing incentives:
- Faculty should present paper /poster
- Faculty can avail incentives for maximum of one conference per year
- 50 % of the Registration fees will be provided subject to maximum limit of Rs. 2000/- per year
- Registration fee will be reimbursed after submission of certificate of attendance and original receipt of registration fee
Recognition for getting International, National and Regional Research Award:
A reward of Rs. 10,000/ - will be given along with certificate for international award received by faculty for their outstanding performance and innovative work. A reward of Rs.5000/- will be given along with certificate for national award received by any faculty for their outstanding performance and innovative work. A reward of Rs. 2000/- will be given along with certificate for national award received by any faculty for their outstanding performance and innovative work.
Incentives for organizing International Level Seminar / Conference:
- SGC will sponsor Rs. 10,000/- to the Departments for conducting International Level Seminars / Conferences
- SGC will sponsor Rs. 5000/- to the Departments for conducting National / State Level Seminars / Conferences
Book/ Book Chapter/Monograph:
The e-book and hard copy books are considered for research incentive. The pocket books or booklets and books having less than 20 pages are not considered for research incentive.
- For each Book (Reference or Text) authored / edited singly or jointly and published by International Publisher (McGraw Hills, Tayler Francis, Springer, Elsevier, CBS Publisher etc. or Apex bodies/Societies with ISBN), the author / editor will be given one time incentive maximum of Rs. 10,000.
- For each Book (Reference or Text) authored/edited singly or jointly and published by National Publisher (McGraw Hills India, JP publisher, Springer India, Elsevier India, CBS Publisher etc. with ISBN, the Authors/Editors will be given one time incentive maximum of Rs.5000/-
- For e-content developed by a faculty singly or jointly for SWAYAM or NPTEL or other MOOC platforms, the author will be give one time incentive of Rs.5000 per course
Patent Grant:
The incentive maximum of Rs. 25,000/ - for International and maximum of Rs. 10,000/- for Indian Patent will be given for successfully granted patent.
Note:
- All proposals relating to research project / claiming of incentives / conducting of research and extension activities / participation of extensions activities etc. should be submitted to the “Centre for Research and Publications (CRP)” through the respective HOD for necessary approval.
- Incentive/Award will be granted based on the merit of the proposal / profile
- Proposal can be submitted individually or jointly by the faculty / department
- All proposals should be submitted within 60 days from the commencement of the Academic session of the year

SG Excellence Award for Research
Innovative research and teaching excellence require support, including institutional aid and campus resources. That’s why Saradha Gangadharan College offers a diverse set of awards to faculty members in all stages of their research careers across academic interests. Each Year SGC will give this award to researcher for their outstanding performance in research. It will contain a certificate along with cash award. Criteria for the Award:
The researcher should have at least 01 international publication and 02 national publications in indexed journal under his/her name and at least 01 project as PI / CI with funding agency
