What you study?

The programme consists of a range of core and allied subjects. The core course consists of Financial Accounting, Principles of Corporate Accounting, Cost Accounting, Management Accounting, Financial Management, Marketing Management, Business Law, Company Law, Auditing, Income Tax Law, Indirect Tax Laws, Money and Financial Systems etc. The allied course consists of Business Economics, Statistics, and Mathematics.

Lateral Entry: Candidates, who have passed in the first attempt the Diploma in Commerce or Diploma in Modern Office Practice of three year duration conducted by the Director of Technical Education, Government of Tamil Nadu or other states are eligible for admission to the Second year of B.Com. degree purely on merit up to 10% of the sanctioned strength in the course. Such candidates should not have completed 22 years of age as on 1st July.

Eligibility: Candidates for admission to B.Com. will be required to have passed Higher Secondary Certificate Examination of the Tamil Nadu State Board or CBSE or other equivalent examination acceptable to the Pondicherry University with Accountancy & or Commerce as one of the subjects of study.

Age: Candidates must have completed 16 years and 6 months as on 15th July. Should be below 21 years of age as on 1st July. Age relaxation is applicable to students belonging to the following categories:

• 3 years for physically handicapped, scheduled castes and scheduled tribes
• 5 years for nuns of various religious congregation and widows.

Medium: The medium of instruction shall be English.

Fees: Rs. 28,000/- per semester + one-time payment of Rs. 2,500/- will be collected.
